District 30
Home to an eclectic mix of longtime Greek American residents, new immigrants from Latin America, young artists, and middle class families from all backgrounds, District 30 has mostly strong, traditional elementary and middle schools. Most children in the district attend their neighborhood schools, but there are some charter and district schools that accept children from across the district.
District 30 is located in the northwest section of Queens, bounded by Flushing Bay to its north and the East River to its west, and includes the neighborhoods of Astoria, Ditmars, East Elmhurst, Hunters Point, Jackson Heights, Long Island City, Sunnyside and Woodside.
